Playground Monday

I love our Mondays at the playground. The (wonderfully laid back) mom's group we're a part of meets up there at the start of each week. Sometimes lots of people show up, sometimes just a few - but there's always someone for the kids to run around with and get a bunch of energy out. Its always an easy outing for us and one Luca and I equally look forward to. Jen and her camera joined us this past Monday. .

Coffee Monday

We took Jen to our favorite coffee place this past Monday. She took lots of pictures along the way, some of which you see here. Luca had been playing dress-up before we left the house and decided to stay in character. His additions to the pirate outfit included his brother's Babylegs and his Skuut. He stopped to see his One-Man-Band friend along the way and made a point to check up the guy's cash flow. Nosy kid. And, since he was dressed for it, he made attempts to scare tourists along the way - but no one seemed frightened. After the walk, coffee and a visit to the train table at the toy shop, we made our way back home.

Car 'tude

Stick-y

This child is NEVER without a stick. And, he is very particular about his choice of sticks. Walks take a really long time because he collects, rejects, collects, rejects and collects again - sticks. We have a special box by the mud room door for his favorites. Big, dirty, bug-infested looking ones have a place outside. Still - I find sticks all over the house and hidden in the nooks and crannies of my car. I am not certain of the criteria - and I believe standards can change at any given moment - but sticks are a very important part of each and every day.

Farmer's Market

It had been almost three months since I'd been to our farmer's market by the time we took Jen there this past Saturday. Since a couple of months before the baby, I'd been traveling the almost two-hour round trip to Jacksonville and back several times a week, so it became habit for me to stop in the locally owned natural foods store there. Stocking up on fresh fruit and veggies during the week made it easy to sleep in instead of getting up to go to the farmer's market on Saturday mornings. Odd - because I love going - especially with Luca, who enjoys the music and the food and the people-watching so much. When we arrived, I was really glad Jen was going to get a chance to see one of the best parts of living here. She took lots of pictures and I was so happy to be back...
